It has been long time……..
It has been very long since I had my last Indian dinner. It was more than two years ago I would say. The dinner was nice. Indian spice is not very spicy compared with Thai and Chinese spice. Their food taste is rather rich, I can only have it once in a long while. I used to have lots of Indian food when I was in the UK as Indian restaurants, Take Away and food stores are very common and popular in there. You can even buy homemade Indian food from the supermarkets such as Marks & Spencers and Tesco.

Traditional mooncakes
We really have so many mooncakes this year. My sister actually has 17 boxes of mooncakes given by her company. We keep one box of traditional mooncake, one box of icy mooncake, and two boxes of ice cream mooncakes, the rest we gave them to friends and relatives.
This is the traditional one.

I do like their packaging, especially the embossed recycling paper container. The icy mango mooncakes do taste good too, but not my favourite. I guess I have been fully attracted by ice cream mooncakes this year. ![]()

Eventually arrived…
Another box of Haagen Dazs ice cream mooncakes eventually landed in our house…..Be honest! It doesn’t taste that good as Gelato. I was a little bit disappointed!
It’s just something missing in the taste of it…
but I don’t know what?? I am only sure it’s not related to the ice cream….hummm maybe they don’t have the mango cream for the fillings. They are only plain ice cream under the chocolate crisp.

It’s just too delicious…
This is Berry Lover. It’s a berry sobert actually. This is Chocolate Kiss.

I love the mango cream filling. It looks like the salty egg yolk of real mooncakes. I guess it’s hard to find something else that looks like the skin of real mooncakes for the replacment of chocolate crisp.
I am now waiting for another box of Haagen Dazs ice cream mooncakes! I already had a whole one for lunch. I doubt I can have the same quantity for the real mooncake in one day!!
2 commentsIrish Coffee
I haven’t been out much for dinner since I was back from LA. I also haven’t had Irish coffee for ages. I went to Seafood and Oyster Bar tonight where mainly serves seafood meal. It was a good meal. Their Irish coffee is great! If I didn’t remember it wrong, the last time I had Irish coffee was about few years ago. I used to love Irish coffee and Scottish coffee when I was in the UK. It’s very common to have it in local cafes but not many can make very good Irish coffee. The good mix of coffee, cream and whisky is very important. I don’t like those with too strong taste of whisky, but those with balance well mixed of three elements are excellent. If I happened to have a good one, I would remember the taste of it for long……..
I think the one I had tonight, I can remember it for a year! No kidding!
Hakka tea
Hakka cuisine is one of the major cuisines in Taiwan. Hakka tea is well known good for health and skin care. I have never tried it in the past, but I can eventually try it today…

Ice tea culture
When I had ice tea in LA, I need to put sugar inside the tea. The sugar can’t be melted as the tea is cold. When I am back to Asia, I also have ice tea often but we mix with syrup. The syrup is mixed well with cold drink. It’s interesting to know the cultural differences of having ice tea.

At Cello
This is the most famous pasta store in Taipei. They only offer 3 pasta dishes everyday. They have no menu on the table. Their kitchen and dinning area are totally separated. The kitchen is located in a store where is about two stores away from the dinning room. The menu is placed outside their kitchen. You have to order before you go to the dinning area. The waiter has to bring you food from the next store. We both can’t finish our pasta, as they are too rich. I only had half dish.

This Mango Ice store was on Carrie’s “MUST EAT” list. This is the most famous ice dessert store in Taipei. Most of HK people must visit this store in Taipei. You can see the queue outside the store all year round regardless of winter or summer. Ice mango and Ice kiwi are popular during summer. Ice strawberry is popular during winter.
