Sunday in LA
We went to see The Illusionist in AMC Theatre at Century City. I like the movie and the theatre but find the advertisments and trailers were playing too long before the movie actually started. It took more than 30 minutes for showing all of them.
After we watched the movie, we hanged around in Westwood. We had afternoon tea in Green Tea Terrace and shopped around in the supermarket. Green Tea Terrace offers various kinds of Japanese tea. Their ginger ice cream is very nice too. It’s also a typical student place where I can tell by the atmosphere.

LA Wine and Food Festival
The Wine and Food Festival was interesting. I did some wine tasting, but not too much. Cat Cora was doing a cooking demonstration in the show, who is from the Iron Chef on TV. I bought her book in the show too.
No commentsJoyce’s kitchen in LA

I cooked tonight. I tried to get some vegetables in small sizes, but is impossible! Everything is in large size here. I made Matzo ball soup, Stuffed Eggplants and Penne with tomato sauce.
3 commentsSomething heavy again….
I had something heavy again for the dinner. We had a nice dinner in El Cholo, which is a Mexican restaurant opened since 1923. The food is nice but I find it a bit too rich. The portion is super large! I guess I eat too much these days…
Moonshadow
I had brunch in Moonshadow today which is a restaurant Mel Gibson had drinks before he was arrested. The sea view is good. Of course, the food is great! I chose something very light as I really don’t want to get myself too filled up. Everything is in large portion here. I hardly find any small dishes here, but the dish I had today which is exceptional.
Aphrodisiac
A restaurant where you can eat on bed……Aphrodisiac …..Music is great, and the interior design is cool. Of course, it’s also a very romantic restaurant.
Thank you!

Cravings
This is the restaurant where I had my lunch today. I can only finished half of the sandwich but it tastes really good though!!
3 commentsCarrie’s birthday dinner
We had Beijing cuisine for Carrie’s birthday dinner. It was a well-known Beijing restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui. I could never find it without my friends telling me where it is. This restaurant is located inside an old building with many Indian shops around. It was totally packed. We reserved a table at 9:30pm, but still needed to wait for it. It was a long queue until 10:30pm. It is a very popular restaurant but I found no web site on net though.
No commentsScoop Icecreamy
I like the idea of this ice cream store. Three steps of choosing what you like for your ice cream…
1) Your flavour of ice cream
2) Three choices of mix-in and there are so many choices! I chose fresh mint, M&M and Blueberry with strawberry sauce for dressing
3) Chocolate cone or cup

Many people eat it for fun. It attracts people watching. I felt a bit funny of taking photos how the owner did the ice cream. I asked him if I could take photos of what he was doing. He said “sure!”. A little kid was standing next to me, and watching me how to take photos of it. He must thinks…”this woman is so weird!”
