Pet charms?

A charm with pain? I swallow? Slave? 3 somes? Are they pet charms?

I found these pet charms on one of my suppliers’ web site. They made these, and sell them, but I guess they don’t know what those words actually mean. I don’t think any pet lovers would buy such charms for hanging on collars of their cats or dogs. My god!

Indian Bollywood

The Indian film industry is the largest in the world In terms of the number of films produced annually. Movie tickets in India are among the cheapest in the world. Bollywood is the informal name given to the film indutsry in India. Bollywood comes from the word of Bombay and Hollywood. There is a research about why Bollywood movies are so popular, and why the local is always satisfied with what Bollywood produces. These are the reasons: Most of people in India are living under poor condition of life, so their living standard is limited. Movies are their major entertainment. Bollywood movies are all major with singing and dancing, which are the important culture of India. Audiences are easy to be satisfied with the simple happiness as long as there are singing and dance scenes in the movies. Story background becomes less important. Bollywood dance is along with rhythm of Indian music. All actors and actresses must be good Bollywood dancers; otherwise, they are not suitable to be in any Bollywood movies. I am also a fan of Bollywood dance. I like the music rhythm and the way women dance. Their costume is wonderful. It’s very similar to belly dancing. Most of the Bollywood actresses are very beautiful. I am not surprise that many say Indian women are the most beautiful women in the world, because they really are.

Media always complains HK film industry is going down. Good actresses and good actors all have gone to overseas, and tried to succeed in Hollywood. The local production people are not doing good jobs. Some complain that HK audiences are too selective of types of movies we watch. Be honest, our movie story lines are very narrow; most are with gangster background. Some become popular lately because they are with Chinese history background, and supported with expensive decoration as well as fantastic costume. I guess the growth of movie industry is also very much related to the living standard of people in different places. We are not too demanding, but our local production is really not so interesting. The good production becomes less and less. Most of people like watching DVD movies at home, as there are not many good movies worth us buying tickets to see in the cinemas. A ticket costs HKD70.00 in general cinemas. It’s expensive when the movies are not so good.

Kylie!

27366-large.jpg
I wish I could see this exhibition in Victoria & Albert Museum, London. I am still a great fan of Kylie. This exhibition will explore Kylie as a popular style icon and international performer. Featuring her costumes, accessories, photographs and her changing image. Her image is not an icon, which people will forget easily. I do have a personal photo taken with Kylie almost 20 years ago. It’s still in good shape. So you can see how much I like her for many years.

kylie_top.jpg Kylie has also been reaffirmed with the launch of a new figure at Madame Tussauds. She became the only person to be created four times other than The Queen. She is still very famous in the UK. Apart from her popularity in the UK, she is also very popular among the gay society regardless in Ausi, UK or Asia. I don’t really know why but really gay guys do love Kylie. When I visited Madame Tussauds, Kylie’s figure wasn’t there yet.

And I think I would like to check this out, the new perfume by Kylie - “Darling” Sounds so sweetie and lovely, isn’t it? ^_^

Chinese actresses in Hollywood

I read a very criticising article on the plane. It’s the airline magazine published by China Southern Airline. It’s a four A3 pages long article. It’s about comparison of Zhang Zjiyi and Gong Li as well as all the Chinese actresses who ever taken movies in Hollywood. It wasn’t a good article about Zhang Zhiyi. It’s quite mean to her actually I am very surprise to read that. She is very famous in international movies, but not gaining popularity of market in China. Her acting has been criticised not having much improvement compared with Gong Li while they were both in Memoirs of Geisha. Although Gong Li is older than her, and only taking Hollywood movies in recent years, her acting is whatsoever much better than Zhang Zhiyi. It said the Hollywood movies Gong Li ever acted which were much better standard than those Zhang Zhiyi was doing. Well, personally, I am not sure about it as it seems those Hollywood movies Gong Li ever acted, which are not stories able to express her real acting. They are just movies directed by the famous western directors. I guess this article is more or less related to the bad attitude of Zhang towards public media of Greater China area. She always refuses interviews with local media but accepts the interviews from western medias, so it’s inevitably of her being written in this way in her home country.

It seems that the whole article is not very pleased with those Chinese actresses who want to get famous in Hollywood. It mentioned those who can get famous in the west by acting, who are only Gong Li, Zhang Zhiyi and Maggie Cheung. The rest who can get their names appeared in Hollywood those must be willing to take off their clothes on the big screens, those who don’t mind acting low class characters, maybe those who can do fighting movies or those who are pretty but can’t act. It also mentioned western movies could have extra benefit in international market if they have famous Chinese actresses playing in the movies that related to the popularity of Chinese heat. It seems that Chinese media is very much prefer their own actresses going home to do more acting rather than in the west.

The reality and the imaginary

Alison Jackson, the British photographer who is talented in creating images between imagination and reality. She successfully creates her fake paparazzi shots of celebrity look-alikes in her works. Many are very controversial but telling the truth which is in beyond our imagination and reality. I particularly like the following picture about Bush and Tony Blair. It’s absolutely true! Every image of Camilla she created, which is also not so impressive. It’s easy to tell how much Alison Jackson is not pleased with impression of Camilla. The idea of Princess Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed with their baby could be the real future scene if Princess Diana didn’t die. I think this is really the imagination and thought of many of those who adore Princess Diana. You may see most of Alison’s works in her official site. I am looking forward to her new works coming up in spring of 2007. Part of her new creative ideas will be with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes as well as Paris Hilton. I can’t wait to see that.. :P
