What a touch scene!
I felt so touched by seeing father of Nastia Liukin, who is also her coach, grabbed her in a bearhug, squeezing her tight for several minutes after the announcement made she is a winner of the all-around final in women’s gymnastics. She was indeed perfect. I enjoyed watching her so much when she did the gymnastics floor. Her body shape has the elegance and classic lines that looks particular good when she did the dancing pattern. Shawn Johnson did the great works too, a very sweet and cute gymnast.
Many here do expect China to get one more gold medal for the women all-around gymnastic. It would be the first time in the history if China did it. China did have three gold medals in the whole gymnastic event included both men and women, therefore, I think it’s fair enough that another country should get the last gold. American team did it very good anyway.
I was so happy to see Ryan Lochte and Aaron Peirsol, both getting gold and silver medals separately in 200 men swimming Back final.
I am happy to see whoever won the games, regardless where they are from. I don’t have much nationality sense on such events. Olympic is not just an international competition, is also a game to share international friendship.

It’s interesting that when CCTV shows the medal count, China is listed first since China won more gold medals. But NBC shows the US as first in medal count, because they are including all medals. I think the country with the most first place victories should be first. I don’t think it’s a point of pride that the US has more third place finishes than anyone else.
A big story in the US is that China’s own news agency, Xinhua, reported that gymnist He Kexin was only 13 last December, and the the other leading gymnasts were only 14. The minimum age is 16. After the US story about it was publicized, Xinhua took that story off their website.
NBC should instead report gold medals per capita
Jumpcut: Oh no! So most of girls are really 14! They do look very young, which is true. Sometimes, Chinese people do look younger compared with their actual age so hard to say, but if the information of gymnasts had ever been published, then I do believe China did break the rules. Well, China does such things I am not surprise at all. I guess they can fake the document if any country is against them.
Andrew: I guess it’s very much related to sort of national pride of a country. China did publish the way that shows they got gold medal the most, but the U.S. did publish that they got the total quantity of medal the most, so it shows a dignity of oneself.
