New Year family dinner
We have our homemade abalone again today for Chinese New Year family dinner.

This is our traditional family made Shanghai hotpot, which we have every year. You can find lots of ingredients in it included scallops, sea shells, fish meat wrapped with fry eggs, glass noodles, bamboo shoot, Shanghainese dry meat, Chinese mushroom and Chinese cabbage. Delicious, isn’t it?

And our homemade barbecue sauce king pawn!!

Kung Hey Fat Choi!! The cuisines all look very good, and they brought back my childhood memories of how my family celebrated Chinese New Year. I normally travel back to Hong Kong during Chinese New Yea–but not this time. My sister is traveling from Hong Kong to visit me. I will pick her up at the airport in two hours so that we can have the “union-dinner” at the New Year’s Eve (US Time) this evening.
Looks yummy.
Gung Hay Fat Choy! (I think that’s the westernized spelling that I see in the US media, not TT’s correct pinyin…)
Kung Hei Fat Choi! to all. May everyone have a prosperous Wu Zi.
The King Prawns look ever so delicious.
I think “Gung Hay/Hei Fat Choi” is the same. Cantonese pronunciation is quite mixed up.
Happy Chinese New Year to you all!!
TT: Have a great time with your sister!
