Well…..
I have just watched the fascinating speech given by Tony Blair on television. His speech is always powerful.
“Sometimes the only way you conquer the pull of power is to set it down.”
“I came into office with high hopes for Britain’s future, and I leave it with even higher hopes for Britain’s future.”
“I give my thanks to you, the British people, for the times that I have succeeded - and my apologies for the times I have fallen short.”
“And for many it simply isn’t and can’t be worth it. For me, I think we must see it through. They, the terrorists who threaten us here and around the world, will never give up if we give up. It is a test of will and of belief and we can’t fail.”
Tony Blair has announced he will stand down as prime minister on 27 June. I do feel a bit sorry for his resignation. He did a good job and reformed many aspects of society in the UK though is not perfect. He has contributed the positive development of the Irish peace process. His policy did recover the backward of UK economy in the past ten years. If he didn’t deal with anything about the war in Iraq, he would stay until the next election at least. However, he still insists on his policy towards the war in Iraq during the parliament debate yesterday. It was a bad decision in terms of stimulating terrorism rather than reducing it. It’s really a worst effect overall to lead to a great distrust of him.
Anyway, Tony Blair is the most successful Labour prime minister ever in the past history. I think the person who will replace his position; must have hard time to recover the confidence of British towards Labour Party.
1 commentMy Dad and Mr. Bean
I was watching TV down stair, and then I heard my Dad was laughing loud up stair. He was watching Mr. Bean. It seems that this is the only kind of comedy he enjoys. He liked watching Charlie Chaplin during 60s and 70s. He likes watching Mr. Bean since 90s.
Anyway….funny Dad…. ^_^
2 commentsHello Vaio!
My laptop is eventually back from repair, but it doesn’t seem any good. It was damaged by virus, so everything had been deleted. I re-installed everything. I thought it was ok, but same problem happened again. The laptop can’t be switched on when it re-started after the installation. It happened for several times, and a screen came up and said “The error occurs due to something crashed with Window, and required to choose the safety mode”. After it has been recovered, it should not be related to virus anymore. I guess it’s related to the hardware error. Oh well, my Viao has been with me for almost 4 years. I guess it’s about time to say goodbye, but I just think it’s better to use it until it really doesn’t work. I have a habit to keep using personal belongings until it really can’t be used especially with electronic appliance. My camera also has error from time to time, but overall it works and photos turn out good so I haven’t yet given it up. I just feel it’s such a waste to throw things away especially my laptop and camera still look so new. I always have stuff being used by me over 10 years, but still look like one year old. It’s hard for me to make things look old. I still have duvet cover, which I bought in Laura Ashley more than ten years ago; and it still looks very new. The colour still stays the same without being washed off.

Anyway, I will look for suitable laptop for replacement of mine few months later unless my laptop suddenly totally breaks down again. I will also wait for the Vista updates of my printer before I buy the new laptop. My printer is still not compatible with Window Vista, so it will cause problems by having a laptop with Window Vista.
