My sister and H & M
My sister did something today that I certainly won’t do in my life. She queued for the entry of H & M in the first day opening. She was hoping to get some M Collection items signed by Madonna. (Madonna wasn’t there for signing of anything though. ;-)) H & M offered 20 free trench coats with signature of Madonna for the first 20 people in the queue by the main entrance of Central store on the first opening day. They also offered 500 free sunglasses with signature of Madonna for people queued after the first 20. My sister failed to get any of those as she was obviously in the position of somewhere after first 500 people in the queue. However, she managed to get the Madonna handbag, which was in the following shown photos. Hong Kong is the first place, where H & M announced M Collection in the world. The second place will be the U.S. This promotion attracted over 1,000 people to queue for the entry of store in the first day. My sister told me some people actually were by the main entrance during mid night. I really can’t imagine how people would do it. My Mum and me both think my sister is mad, as it’s not something that our family would do. Besides, she is the company staff of H & M, so she shouldn’t need to queue for anything in our opinions. Well, we just laughed at her in friendly way as long as she is happy then we are happy.
Apparently, my sister found her photo in the news part of H & M on HK Yahoo. She was taken in the shopping scene by the press.
The press promotion of H & M is the most successful campaign in the recent HK fashion industry. They invited stars/famous designers to be the guest designers of their clothing collection and sell them with reasonable prices, which is a very creative idea. None of fashion stores of high street has never ever done it. They put up image of Madonna on a big billboard in Central that creates attractions. Creative idea is not easy to get, but once you find a successful one then it would bring you unlimited business opportunities.

I was on Yahoo HK but unable to find that picture with your sister in it. H&M is a hit here too when they had Stella Mccartney. McDonna collection will be in store March 22. I am looking at their web site right now, the trench coat is going to be a big hit, the most popular item in the store. Will I be waiting in line for that? Well, will see. Unfortunately March 22 is Thursday…so should I take a lunch break in downtown? The company shuttle takes us to the Union Square, H&M is just couple of short blocks down.

That trench coat doesn’t look good, as my sister did get one for her friend. She showed me when she got home. That coat costs HKD799.00. It’s expensive, and not worth the price. The material is not that good, and same as the style. It’s just under name of Madonna otherwise, you won’t think anything special anyway. That photo is gone I think. It was from Sunday. She appeared by the corner with little image, so you may not recognise her. Anyway, enjoy your shopping!
The pictures of the clothes always look good.
Yes, it’s picture that’s why! Just the way to sell.
There is going to be a new H&M store nearby my home (just 10 min drive). I will check it out, might end up not buying any if I found the material and fit not to my standard (such as no polyester, I hate polyester!), and the price of course. But it is quite fun to shop at H&M store, too bad they don’t have store credit card available.
Oh In fact my sister can have 25% discount in any H & M stores of the world as she is a staff. Anyway, I can’t be bother to visit until there is no more crowd.
