Back on blog
I was quite busy last week in Mainland. The trip was fine. The flight was a bit delayed but not too bad. Work went well. I found more materials for the design of my products. My supplier took me to an interesting wholesales market for ideas sourcing. It is the world biggest wholesales market. You can find all kinds of products in there such as houseware items, hardware products, gemstones, jewellery parts, travel bags, and many many. It’s too much to explain in details. However, those are low end products with low quality. They are good for selling to Eastern Europe, Africa and Middle East. It’s not something suitable for what I am doing.
I saw people selling tiger skin on the street. I asked the seller if it was real, and of course he said it was real, but I don’t think so. The hair was so soft. It didn’t look like real. If it was real then it would be very bad as tigers are animals under protection. They really shouldn’t kill them. The seller told me that the skin costs RMB2,400.00. My God! RMB2,400.00 for a piece of tiger skin if it was real. I feel bad about it.
I was extremely tired after I was back. I used to go for work trip without feeling tired, but now I need to have long hours of sleep to recover my energy.
Delicious Panini
This is the most delicious Spicy Chicken Panini I have ever had. Apart from Spicy Chicken, they also offer Tandoori Chicken, Simon and steak on the menu. What I love the most is the mixed flavour of Mozzarella cheese and the chicken once they have been heated in the grill. It’s just too delicious to explain…. ^_^ By the way, this Italian sandwich bar is located inside Three Sixty, the new food court of Landmark.

Story of Koo
I watched a travel series about Cambodia on TV just now. It wasn’t a normal travel programme but a programme about life discovery in various places of the world.
It was an upsetting story. A 8 years old boy sells books and postcards on streets of tourist area in Cambodia. He works 8 to 9 hours a day on the street. The money he earned is for the tuition of school. He earns USD1.00 for every book he sells, so he tries his very best to sell books to English speaking tourists. He speaks fluent English and learns it at school. When the tourists refused to buy his books; he asked them why, and explained to them that if they didn’t buy his books he would have no money to continue to study. I can’t help to weep a little when I heard what he said. The presenter asked him what his wish is. He pointed at the book counter, and said his wish is to buy all the books in the counter if he had the money. I suddenly feel so bad about myself. When I was a kid, my wish was just only to have a box of Lego if I did well at school. I asked my Mum to buy it for me. My parents took me to Taiwan and Japan for holiday when I was 8. It was my first time to go to overseas by plane. I was the second kid in the class at school, who took plane to another country for holiday. It wasn’t very common to travel by plane for holiday 20 years ago in HK. I am so lucky! How fortunate I am! I just can’t help to feel bad about myself. I was ever 8 years old, and same as what age Koo is at now.
I realise that life is not easy. It is always filled with challenges and difficulties. However, when I think of there are many others, who live in this world without food and basic shelters that make me feel so small. “Cherish” is the great word I always remember in my mind. If we didn’t cherish with what we have, we will regret for what we lose.
Lotus feet
I was surfing around, and found this photo. It’s a photo from old days China during Ching Dynasty. Two women on the photo, who both had foot binding. We call it “lotus feet”. It’s foot binding culture in the old days of China. It was the most uncivilised Chinese culture for Chinese women in the past centuries. It was very cruel way of thinking in Chinese society and was well practiced in rich families of China. Women were not allowed to leave houses, so the foot binding can limit their movement. According to legend, women were bound in this ways, who were regarded as elegant and beautiful as lotus.
My Great Grandma did have her feet bound. If I didn’t remember it wrong, I saw her in 1980, Guangzhou. It was my only and last time to see her. She moved to Guangzhou from Shanghai because of the war. She was almost 100 years old when I visited her. She died more than 20 years ago in Guangzhou. I can’t remember if she wore a pair of lotus slippers, as she was in bed during the time we were there. She couldn’t walk at all. I remember I did ask my Mum why she had her feet bound. My Mum said my Grandma was from a wealthy family, so Great Grandma needed to follow the common practice of upper class people in old days. I can’t imagine how women escaped from any danger with a pair of lotus feet during the war period. Just can’t imagine…

Massive attack of Bibi!!
How can you do this to me? Bibi!! >_<
She destroyed my T-shirt. She almost torn it into pieces. There were many holes on it. I only wore it once. I washed it by hands, and dried it on top roof. It was blown away by the wind, so Bibi got it. I bet she must be happy to find herself a new toy. >_< She doesn't usually do such things, but God knows what happened to her today. I punished her, and showed her my T-shirt. Obviously, she knew what she did, and didn't make any noise at all. Animals must be punished when they do something wrong. You have to show them what they did, and punished them immediately otherwise they wouldn't realise they did the mistake.
You can see that she kept looking down, and didn't want to look at me. This is her naughty and guilty look. Oh well, overall it's just a T-shirt, and sure I will use extra clothespin next time! ![]()

My sister and H & M
My sister did something today that I certainly won’t do in my life. She queued for the entry of H & M in the first day opening. She was hoping to get some M Collection items signed by Madonna. (Madonna wasn’t there for signing of anything though.
) H & M offered 20 free trench coats with signature of Madonna for the first 20 people in the queue by the main entrance of Central store on the first opening day. They also offered 500 free sunglasses with signature of Madonna for people queued after the first 20. My sister failed to get any of those as she was obviously in the position of somewhere after first 500 people in the queue. However, she managed to get the Madonna handbag, which was in the following shown photos. Hong Kong is the first place, where H & M announced M Collection in the world. The second place will be the U.S. This promotion attracted over 1,000 people to queue for the entry of store in the first day. My sister told me some people actually were by the main entrance during mid night. I really can’t imagine how people would do it. My Mum and me both think my sister is mad, as it’s not something that our family would do. Besides, she is the company staff of H & M, so she shouldn’t need to queue for anything in our opinions. Well, we just laughed at her in friendly way as long as she is happy then we are happy.
Apparently, my sister found her photo in the news part of H & M on HK Yahoo. She was taken in the shopping scene by the press.
The press promotion of H & M is the most successful campaign in the recent HK fashion industry. They invited stars/famous designers to be the guest designers of their clothing collection and sell them with reasonable prices, which is a very creative idea. None of fashion stores of high street has never ever done it. They put up image of Madonna on a big billboard in Central that creates attractions. Creative idea is not easy to get, but once you find a successful one then it would bring you unlimited business opportunities.
Happy watching…
I had just finished watching Hotel Babylon. It was the last one of first series shown on TV. I watched it every Thursday. It was a really good one. I wonder if we would have second series coming up at all. It seems that our TV channel always likes to show the first series of the whole drama, and never shows the rest of it later on unless there are some special popular ones such as OC and Desperate Housewives. I am not a great fan of Desperate Housewives though. I know many women love to watch Desperate Housewives but I just don’t get the story much. I am not into it. Nip/Tuck wasn’t very popular in here as our TV channel only showed first series of it, and no more showing. I don’t blame them as it was quite sick watching it. I really can’t stand to watch those terrible scenes of various plastic surgeries on TV. Apparently, Prison Break is quite popular here. It’s a very typical story with prison scene that HK audiences usually like. It’s not for me though.
Anyway, it seems that we have no more interesting dramas on TV in short term. Sigh!!
New Security Measures for cabin baggage in HK
Some people don’t like this news, but I am alright with it. I don’t think I will bring so many bottles in my hand baggage anyway. I don’t even bring hand and face lotions. I don’t wear make up on plane. I only have my contact lenses kept with liquid inside a case, which capacity is less than 30ml. I can’t think of anything else I do carry on plane apart from my ticket, passport, wallet and laptop.
2 commentsOur way of cooking
This is how we cooked our dinner tonight! It’s not easy though. We had rice, sliced beef and dry scallop as well as eggs inside the pot with charcoal underneath for cooking. It is the way how people cooked their food in the old days.
Cooking skill does make lots of difference to the taste of food. You wouldn’t know until you try it!
