What’s the best to see next?

There are no good movies coming up lately on cinema. The one I am really looking forward to seeing is The Queen. It won’t be on until March 8. We always have new movies come up at least one to three months later after those have been finished showing in the U.S. This is the least, but could be longer. The only type of movies we do show at the same time with the U.S; it must be movie like MI3 or any kind of international Hollywood movies. Hollywoodland finished showing in U.S since Nov last year, but I haven’t even seen it’s ads in our movie theatre. I guess we may not have it at all. I didn’t even know about this movie until I read this article back in Nov 2006. I always like acting of Adrien Brody. I am very surprise he didn’t do many good movies after Pianist. Pianist is a great movie same as Life is Beautiful. I am not sure if Hollywoodland was good, but definitely King Kong he did; it wasn’t very good at all. The movie itself wasn’t attractive anyway.

I haven’t seen Borat, but after I read an article about the story of it I don’t think I am interested in it at all. I thought it was a comedy, but actually was not. The story sounds so mean to many people, especially to the poor. The article stated the story actually tells the conflict between British and American towards various world issues in terms of culture, religion and politic. Well, I think I have seen the war scene enough these days on TV, so such movie is definitely not a good idea for “entertaining” the auidence.

So what’s the best to see next? Just wait to see “The Queen” I guess.

“The Prestige” is very similar to “The Illusionist.” Scarlett Johanssen is in it.

Finally done with Academy Awards and all worked in front of the scene and behind the scene received their report cards. “The Departed” the talk of the town won the Best Picture. Seemed pretty much everyone got something. I already put down on the list what I have to get from Netflix (a on-line movie rental service). “The Prestige” and “The Illusionist” are on my list, as well as “The Queen”. My favorite “Marie Antoinette” only got the best costume and I knew this movie would receive this award, period costumes are always hard to achieve but always win (if got good costume designer).

I am very disappointed with the result of Best Film as The Departed is not really that good. It’s just the exact same version of Internal Affairs. Maybe, I saw it with attitude of HK people.
