Well, gradually all these will be improved. The standard will be up to international level after Olympic 2008 as long as everyone is willing to follow. The public behaviour is also critical. China government does lately announce new rules against the inappropriate personal behaviour of general public such as no spitting, essential queue up habit, no smoking in non-smoking areas, and prohibiting the dumping of rubbish on the ground etc…

    Misspellings are not confined to the Chinese. In Japan, there are many hilarious examples of misspelled English words on menus and signs. And I’ve seen young Japanese women and girls wearing T-shirts with English-language profanities on them. On the other hand, many Americans have tattoos with Chinese or Japanese characters because they think it’s stylish. I can only imagine what a crafty tattoo artist might decide to engrave as a joke! ;-)
