Traditional mooncakes
We really have so many mooncakes this year. My sister actually has 17 boxes of mooncakes given by her company. We keep one box of traditional mooncake, one box of icy mooncake, and two boxes of ice cream mooncakes, the rest we gave them to friends and relatives.
This is the traditional one.

I do like their packaging, especially the embossed recycling paper container. The icy mango mooncakes do taste good too, but not my favourite. I guess I have been fully attracted by ice cream mooncakes this year. ![]()

Happy Mooncake’s Day! You are a genuine gastronome, even for mooncakes:) Well, I don’t think many people here are interested in mooncakes, even though, most of us do taste some at this season. I’ve never seen ice cream mooncakes, but I guess, the flavor might be a little similar with the ice cream birthday-cake I’d had:)
Yes Annie, the ice cream mooncake is just like ice cream birthday cake. They are just with ice cream filling for it. Well, we don’t like eating mooncakes much either that’s why there are more and more new ideas of mooncakes appeared in the market. People are no longer interested in traditional mooncakes, but still buy them for custom. The new mooncake ideas are the new attractions for customers in modern days! We still want to keep the custom food but also need to present them in interesting ways, so here you go…ice cream, icy, or whatsoever coming up…who knows!!
I have been complaining for years about the calories of mooncakes, yet I am still buying them year after year.
The ice-cream and other types are fads; only the traditional one with the egg yokes and lotus paste will continue forever.
I like the moon pictures in your other posting. The moon in Hong Kong is bigger and rounder than anywhere else.
TT..I thought the moon in the US is bigger and rounder that’s what I heard before…just based on the geographical reasons…
The naked eyes can’t tell if the moon is measurably bigger. It is purely sentimental in my case: the moon is bigger and rounder in the place where my roots are.
TT, Then you absolutely love HK!!
