Cha Cha Cha!

Basic….one and two, two and two, New York 3 times…..Spot and Turns…..

These steps are still in my mind. :P

The dance class was good tonight. We did Cha Cha Cha, Rumba and a bit of Jive. We did step practice for Jive. It was fun. I told my teacher I will miss the class next week. He askd me where I am going to. I said I am going to LA. He said “Great! Good on you! You should visit Club Mayan in LA.” He said he has been there many times, where is a great place for Salsa Salsa dance. I think no matter where I said I am going, he would suggest all those Latin and Salsa Salsa dance places anyway. I am not too much into Salsa Salsa, but more into Latin and Ballroom dance. Salsa Salsa has no structure. It’s not too difficult to learn, but Latin and Ballroom require technique, skills, manner as well as presentation. You have to remember the steps very well.

During the class, a NZ woman asked me when I am flying next week, as she is going to New Jersey with her daughter for preparation of her first year in university next Tue. She asked me if I am taking any hand carry. I said yes. I believe some people won’t be bothered to carry any hand luggages, but I am fine with it. I just don’t bring anything that I shouldn’t carry in my hand luggage.

Anyway, it’s no big deal if I am carrying hand luggage or not. It’s also not necessary to bring any sweets or chocolate on plane for this trip as I am already feeling sweet! :)

Lost and found at the Hong Kong airport

It’s interesting news I listened from radio news channel this morning.

Guess! What belongings do people lose lately at the HK airport?

The following answers are from the Lost and Found office of the Airport Authority. They are…….

air.jpg

They found large number of glasses and mobiles. I still don’t think this is unusual, but they also found large number of fresh fish meatball and moon cakes! Well, Mid Autumn Festival is coming, so travellers like to bring them to their friends and relatives in overseas for gifts. However, the gift box of moon cake is quite big; it’s hard to imagine how to lose it? I suppose people just leave it somewhere before they go on board. Fresh fish meatball? Who can guarantee it will stay fresh after 13 hours of long fight without freezer? It must be kidding! I don’t think people will travel with it if they visit somewhere in Asia, because it’s so common in most of Asian countries. I persume their destinations must be somewhere cannot get Chinese food easily.

I have very good memory. I hardly lose anything, so any of answers above I also can’t imagine.

The last lesson of Dr. Yogi Rim

Oh no! Today was the last yoga lesson of Yogi. He will be transferred to Singapore branch. He may be back to HK on October, but very likely maybe not. It’s bad news for all of us. We do love his teaching tehniques and also his enthusiastic personality.

He demonstrated us many extremely difficult postures today. One of the students did bring a camera, so she did take photos of all postures. She said she would share all photos with us online. I will post them on my blog when I get them. Those are amazing postures and require long time practice. Yogi explained that some people are naturally good in some difficult postures without much practice. Some people just can’t do it even they have been praticing for long. There are few postures I can do it very well, but the rest of students can’t do it at all in the class. I also don’t know why I can do it, but I am just flexible enough to do them. You may find part of the most difficult postures in the following chart. Yogi did teach and demonstrate us the following postures in the class. I can do about 13 of them. Some of them I can’t do at all because I don’t have enough strength to lift up my entire body with my arms. My classmate suggested me doing weight lifting and joining Body Pump class regularly, then my strength can be improved.

My Mum always says to me “Don’t come back with broken arms or legs!”, before I go for yoga every Sunday. Ha! Funny Mum! Well, I am not too keen to try that hard. I just do what I can. She also asks me not to do any weight lifting because no girl wants to have big arms. Oh well, I doubt I could have strong arms that easy. If I could, I had it ages ago, because I used to join Body Pump every week for three years. If I started to do Body Pump again, I might be able to do the rest of postures on chart.

My classmates are very enthusiastice about Yoga. We join Sunday class regularly. We all learn yoga under very warm atmosphere that brought by Yogi. We wouldn’t feel bad when we failed to do some difficult postures, but would response in laugh. Difficulties and failure are not so important. It’s great fun to share with others. It creates harmony and happiness. This is the greatest learning experience I have ever had. The second great learning experience is ballroom dancing. Learning is not necessary about objective and goal, but the outcome of process could be more than what you gain from objective.

Yogi walked down from the gym with his wife and son after class. I was walking from opposite direction towards them. I can tell he has a happy family. They all look very cheerful with wonderful smiles. His wife and son are his students too. :)

My Indian shoes

32.jpgI bought a pair of Indian shoes today. I love it very much. It is completely hand made with leather. The quality of needlework is very good. The embroidery looks like a piece of art. It’s not expensive too. I bought it in an Indian shop around Soho area, but the shoes are actually made in Pakistan. There are many to choose from, but each style has limited sizes available. There is no specific size marked on shoes anyway, I guess hand made items are usually like that. I always like hand made leather items with detail patch works and embroidery.

Family

I watched the Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2006 with my parents tonight. It was ok, kind of boring. The programme itself is actually getting worse. There is no more new idea going on. Miss Hong Kong is no longer joining any international pageants anyway.

However, my post isn’t about the topic of pageant. The presenter asked one of the contestants a question related to the meaning of family. She was alright giving a reasonable answer but the presenter told her an additional answer about the meaning of family - “Family” = Father and Mother I love you! He said it in funny way, but it does make sense.

Late afternoon walk story

I had a late afternoon walk with my parents today. My Dad suggested us walking with him to the place where he usually does exercise himself every morning. He usually gets there by bicycle riding, but today we walked together.

Three old ladies walked pass us with a white dog following them. When their dog saw my Dad, it started to follow him. It was a female dog. Those ladies left, but their dog was still following my Dad. She followed us more than 30 minutes. She didn’t want to leave us until a car drove by. The driver stopped his car, and called the dog’s name. The dog stopped, but still didn’t want to get on his car. We asked him to get her back home. He tried, but his dog still kept following us. In the end, he left his dog and drove away. We knew that his dog should find her own way home anyway. She followed us along until she met a couple with three dogs walking with them. She immediately turned her attention on her new friends. Finally, she left us. It’s such a funny dog. A dog doesn’t like going home with her masters, but follow around with strangers. It’s kind of unusual I think. Anyway, animals usually like my Dad. I am not surprise that she followed him in the first place. Well, my Dad likes to keep birds, snails and tutles he catches, but he wouldn’t keep one more dog or cat easily again. Responsibility is the major reason.

I was extremely tired after the walk. I should feel bad about it as my parents were absolutely fine to walk more than an hour. My Dad loves to take such walk as daily exercise besides bicycle riding. Although, I do yoga regularly, I am still not fit enough. :PWell, I always say no one is perfect, and nothing is absolute…hehe @_@ Sleep tight!

I want to hear good news…

I really feel sorry for the latest news of London Heathrow airport. Is there no good news out there? It seems we only hear about the war and confusion of various in any corner of the world everyday. It’s kind of depressing. I guess I did hang out quite often in Heathrow airport for several years so I do feel bad to hear this news.

Well, anyway it must not be fun to travel by planes these days. And, I am going to take a long hours flight very soon. LoL

I quite like watching video news on Reuters though….

South Beauty!

Wow! I enjoy my eating experience very much in South Beauty tonight, which is a well-known Chinese restaurant chain from Beijing.

h.jpg3.jpg2.jpg

It’s located in Lee Garden. They don’t only offer cuisines of Shanghai, Xi Chuan, Beijing and Canton, and also many creative food ideas. Their interior looks like an old Shanghai theatre.

6.jpgLook at this hanging pork dish! It doesn’t only look good, and also taste very good. The garlic and sesame sauce as well as sliced carrot are all wrapped by a piece of pork slice, and being served as a pork roll. We missed to try a creative dessert named “Four Treasures of Chinese Scholar” (English name on their menu) It means four major writing tools of Chinese Calligraphy. The set includes paper, brush, ink and ink stick. They transform this idea into dessert, but unfortunately, we couldn’t try it tonight, as it has to be ordered in one day advance.

The rest of dishes are very delicious too….

The toliet is full of mirrors. You have to press a stone made button to get in, which is quite cool! The lift is in pink.Gosh! I really check out all the details of this restaurant regardless of interior design, food quality and service. Overall, everything is very good.

All about noodle!

I found a new blog, Noodle Whore, from LA food blogging . :) I feel hungry by just looking at it.

I wonder if there is any blog specifically related to rice. There are white rice, brown rice, red rice, organic rice and many types in the market. Rice can be cooked in many different ways and with various cuisines. Ideas can be endless.
